Draw-Tite's Activator Electronic Brake Controls for trailers with electric brakes applies the trailer's brakes electronically as soon as the brake pedal is engaged. Pendulum models of the competition rely on inertia to apply brakes, but inertia is only generate after you have already applied your brakes. Since the drawtite Activator has no moving parts or pendulums to adjust, they can be mounted in virtually any position and require no leveling - ever. The slim, compact design and contoured shape of the draw tite activator are combined to provide more under-dash clearance than any other brake control. A conventional four wire hook-up is illustrated in easy-to-follow instructions. Mounting bracket and hardware are included. The amount of braking power (output) and rate of application (sync) are both adjustable for the individual driver's preference, road conditions, type of trailer and load.
The Output Control is located on the front of the unit with a slide adjustment. The Output Indicator on the Activator has a red indicator light on the front of the unit which illuminates when the brakes are applied. The driver can control the rate of brake application from soft to aggressive by simply moving this control forward or backward.
The sync control is a slide adjustment located on the side of the brake control. The manual control is activated by squeezing the trigger located on the front of both Activator and Activator II units, or the hand-held remote of Activator III. Its use will illuminate both the tow vehicle and trailer stop lights as required by National Highway Traffic Safety Administration regulations.
Activator is made for 2 and 4 brake trailers with 12,000 pound capacity. The Wiring Kit for 5100 Activator Brake Control, includes 25 ft. 12-2 duplex wire, 20 amp circuit breaker and attaching terminals. This kit must be purchased separately. |

Draw-Tite was started in 1946 by Bill Whichello. Bill was an inventor and his first product was a clothesline tighetner. He called it a Draw-Tite. Unfortunately, that was about the time residential clothes dryers became popular and there was not much call for the original Draw-Tite. Fortunately, Bill was also an avid RV’er. He built a trailer hitch for his car and, since he already had the name copyrighted, he called it a Draw-Tite. Soon, Draw-Tite became a symbol of craftsmanship in the towing industry.
Over fifty years and millions of trailer hitches later, the same care and patience is put into every hitch built today as Bill Whichello did fifty years ago.
