The Even Brake by Roadmaster is a supplementary braking system as technically advanced as your RV and your car! The Even Brake exclusively provides continuous self-diagnostic testing, automatic low battery and brake protection, and constant braking information and system status all reported to you via a three-tiered motor home/RV monitor. The Even Brake braking system also boasts terrain-sensing logic and smoother, more responsive braking. All these innovations are incorporated into the world’s only portable braking system with proportional braking! Stop light switch kits are required for some vehicles. There are some newer vehicles which to conserve the battery voltage will automatically shut down the electrical system if the vehicle has been turned off and is unoccupied for an extended period of time. To allow Even Brake to operate in these vehicles with an “automatic shut-down” mode, install a 12-volt outlet kit, which can be ordered optionally: 20 AMP 12V Outlet Kit below.
Supplemental brakes are required in virtually every state and province. The majority of states, plus many Canadian provinces, specify 3,000 pounds as the maximum weight which can be towed without supplemental brakes, according to the American Automobile Association. |

| IMPORTANT NOTES | - Vehicle must have power brakes.
- All Ford vehicles equipped with ‘neutral tow’ kits must be wired without a Brake-Lite Relay. Using a Brake-Lite Relay in these vehicles may prevent disengagement of the transmissions for towing, causing sever non-warranty transmission damage. Also, electrical feedback will disrupt the Even Brake diagnostic program, causing false alerts.
- H3 Hummer - Braking system is not available at this time.
- Jeep Liberty – A pull-down insert in the dash panel, under the steering column, can be removed for easy access to the brake light switch.
- Saturn LS, Ion and Vue, as well as other vehicles - fuses(s) must be removed from the vehicle before it can be towed. Check the owner’s manual, or the dealership, before initial Even Brake installation – if fuse(s) must be removed, verify that removing them will not affect the proper operation of the supplemental braking system. ROADMASTER has an optional stop light switch kit available for the Chevy Malibu and Saturn ION. These can be ordered below, but are special order and not returnable.
