Portable supplemental braking system, the 9700 by Roadmsater, applies a pre-set pressure to the towed cars brake pedal each time the motorhome’s brake lights are illuminated. RV brake system allows you to simply push a button to select light, medium or heavy braking. The 9700 towing brake system may be set just as easily to activate only in an emergency break away. The 9700 uses the electrical connections already in place on your towed vehicle (the towed vehicle’s electrical harness) to brake when you brake the motorhome — the same electrical signal that activates the towed vehicle’s brake lights also activates the 9700. The 9700 tow vehicle braking system is eficient, effective and easy!
Supplemental brakes are required in virtually every state and province. The majority of states, plus many Canadian provinces, specify 3,000 pounds as the maximum weight which can be towed without supplemental brakes, according to the American Automobile Association. |

The Roadmaster difference…ROADMASTER doesn’t outsource. All of our products are designed, engineered and manufactured at our plant in Portland, Oregon, with virtually every process done under the same roof. The reason for ‘hands-on’ manufacturing is simple: quality. “Quality starts on the inside, and when you control the process, you control the quality,” as Jerry A. Edwards, who founded ROADMASTER 34 years ago, is fond of saying. To our way of thinking, “quality first” is the reason more ROADMASTER towing products are on the road today than any other brand — by nearly a two-to-one margin. ROADMASTER is the only towing products manufacturer to use computerized testing — as well as "real world" physical testing — to ensure structural integrity, longevity, and the safety of your family.
