The RainKap (RainCap) is fast becoming the care choice for a world of reduced exterior maintenance on recreational vehicles. Black streaks consuming your time? Do they look bad and damage your RV finish? Then the RainKap insert accessory is your answer. During pouring rain, the dirty runoff from the roof is heavy and overflows the existing awning rail, J channel, gutter or standard trim. This creeping water overflow causes black streaks on your RV siding. Install the RainKap and it will extend the dirty rooftop water beyond the side. Therefore, no more black streaks on your RV siding. The RainKap also provides an (optional) secondary molding seal with its built in caulking channel for leak protection at the roof edge and window mounts.
RainKap is easy to install! Remove the common one-inch trim insert (screw cover) found in various RV trim insert moldings. Insert a section of the bottom leg into the lower channel with the RainKap sloped downward. Roll the concave wheel of a screen spline tool (purchased separately) along the top leg using a downward and inward force to insert the top leg. Repeat until the complete length is installed. Cut off the excess. It is recommended to silicone caulk the bottom leg at each end and at the opening at the screw clearance arch. Caulk the upper channel its entire length to provide an extra measure of leak protection.
