Innovative in design, Draw-Tite Round Bar Weight Distributing Hitch Systems present a strong robust design that is user friendly and promotes easy assembly and hook-up. The differences in the Draw-Tite weight distributing hitch systems are in construction materials, welding, manufacturing process and hook-up. Adjustment is simple because of the easy-to-operate snap-up brackets that allow spring bar tension to be adjusted by changing links in the support chains. This lets you adjust for various trailer tongue weights within the spring bar weight range by applying tension on the spring bars until the car or tow vehicle is level. Rather then merely supporting the trailer tongue weight, weight distributing hitches apply leverage between the towing vehicle and trailer causing the tongue weight to be carried by all axles of the tow vehicle and trailer. When tongue weight is distributed in this way, trailers with greater tongue weight can be towed, resulting in a more level ride which reduces stress on the rear of the tow vehicle and provides greater steering and brake control. E-coat base with black powder coat provides a long lasting finish.
Round Bar Weight Distributing Hitch Systems come with 30 inch spring bars which are standard. An elevated Hitch Ball platform provides superior coupler clearance. The hook-up brackets are designed to provide increased frame clearance. The assembly of hardware and chains is included with your purchase. Lift-Lock II hook-up brackets and handle prevents the hook-up bracket from snapping out of place after setting spring bar tension. The solid knuckle end of the one-piece spring bar offers a secure attachment that inhibits wear. One of the features of this product is the open hitch head design which allows easy tool access for hitch ball tightening.

Draw-Tite was started in 1946 by Bill Whichello. Bill was an inventor and his first product was a clothesline tighetner. He called it a Draw-Tite. Unfortunately, that was about the time residential clothes dryers became popular and there was not much call for the original Draw-Tite. Fortunately, Bill was also an avid RV’er. He built a trailer hitch for his car and, since he already had the name copyrighted, he called it a Draw-Tite. Soon, Draw-Tite became a symbol of craftsmanship in the towing industry.
Over fifty years and millions of trailer hitches later, the same care and patience is put into every hitch built today as Bill Whichello did fifty years ago.
