The Friction Sway Control does exactly what its name implies, it uses friction to resist pivotal movement and thereby works against the effects of induced sway while towing. It operates on the principle of "stiffening" the coupling between the tow vehicle and trailer. The degree of stiffening or friction is adjusted to suit various trailer weights and towing conditions. Its operation is simple and uncomplicated. It doesn’t prevent the generation of sway; it simply works to resist the forces once they have started.

Draw-Tite was started in 1946 by Bill Whichello. Bill was an inventor and his first product was a clothesline tighetner. He called it a Draw-Tite. Unfortunately, that was about the time residential clothes dryers became popular and there was not much call for the original Draw-Tite. Fortunately, Bill was also an avid RV’er. He built a trailer hitch for his car and, since he already had the name copyrighted, he called it a Draw-Tite. Soon, Draw-Tite became a symbol of craftsmanship in the towing industry.
Over fifty years and millions of trailer hitches later, the same care and patience is put into every hitch built today as Bill Whichello did fifty years ago. Also the use of technologically advanced equipment and with the most experience in the industry, Draw-Tite meets the challenges of today’s tow vehicles. |
